Part of the fun of going to the tailgate party is getting all dolled up in your team colors! Your outfit is likely the easy part, from your beloved jersey down to your jeans or leggings and lucky socks. Next step, football game makeup.

Teal, silver, white, and black are my go-to shades for the Eagles…

But no matter what color you bleed, you can find pretty makeup to sport at your next tailgate or party. Try these fun football game makeup tips to complete your game day look!

Glam Game Day Looks

When game day arrives, get ready to show your true colors.

If you love the Eagles or the Jacksonville Jaguars, grab a metallic teal liquid eyeliner to create a bold pop of color.

For the Vikings, strike rich purple hues across your lids.

Go bold and blue for the Patriots.

No matter who you support, you can sport your team colors across beautiful, vivid eye makeup.

  1. Start off your football game makeup with a basic powder across your entire face. This controls oil and shine, making sure you’re camera-ready for all those Instagram and FB posts and Snapchats.
  2. football game makeupNext, move onto eyeliner to really define your eyes.
  3. Rely on a basic black liner to get you started, and then build with a waterproof metallic or glitter eyeliner in your team colors.

For my signature Eagles football game makeup look, I start off with a regular black eyeliner topped with MILANI Ultrafine Liquid Eye Liner in Emerald Glisten.

I love this liner because it offers a shocking burst of metallic teal color that coordinates amazingly with my Eagles game day getup.

I then add a dusting of pearly white eye shadow, followed by primer and waterproof black mascara.

I like using the semi-sheer, shimmery white shadow because it’s understated enough that the eyeliner gets most of the attention.

Football Game Makeup Tips

Anyone who’s been to a few football games knows the weather can vary wildly from one game to the next. You might run into 90 degree weather one day and bitter cold or a downpour the next game.

My best advice in regards to choosing your football game makeup is to always opt for the waterproof versions. Getting makeup in your eyes during a game is annoying af, because then you’re too distracted by how much your eye effing hurts to actually enjoy the game.

Can anyone actually see what’s happening down on the field through a swollen, irritated eyeball? I don’t think so.

And of course you don’t want to walk down the 25 rows to get back to the concourse and restroom where you can flush your eye out when you’re just going down there to get another beer and some food at halftime anyway.

So, trust me on this and just go with the waterproof makeup.

You’ll be rain proof, sweat proof, and cry proof. You know, for when my Eagles whoop up on your team. Or tears of joy when you win. Whatever. 🙂

Don’t forget to tote along some lip balm to the game, too!

Best if you can find smooth ones boasting a touch of sunscreen so you can avoid those awful burnt lips. Or on those colder games when the wind is whipping, you’ll also appreciate keeping your pout protected.

Football Player Makeup

If you’re looking for something more along the lines of football player makeup, be sure to grab an eye black marker or eye black temporary tattoos.

Apply your war paint and prepare for battle.

f you’re really lucky, you’ll be able to find ones with your home team’s logo on them.

Another fun idea is to use your eyeliner pencil or liquid eyeliner and paint or draw your favorite player’s number on your cheek.

Or, add to the excitement and complete your look with temporary sports team tattoos or stickers. I’m already eyeing up those Eagles ones for the next game!

Finally, as an afterthought, consider getting yourself a little tote where you can store your football game makeup.

If you’re anything like me and most Philadelphia Eagles fans, you have a routine and a superstition if you deviate too far from it.

Keep your game day cosmetics close at hand in a cute pouch so you never have to head to the tailgate or the game feeling under-dressed.

Okay, I showed you mine so now show me yours. What is YOUR favorite go-to gameday makeup item? Shout it out in the comments below!
