Ahh, Eagles. Too bad, so sad. At least I can console myself in the fact that we’ve nabbed a better position for the draft. (In a highly controversial QB pull that I still feel a little woozy over.) But either way, we’re going to need some pretty strong Super Bowl drinks to down our sorrows come February.
After the year we’ve had, 2021 feels like a great time for a selection of fun Super Bowl cocktails and punch recipes. Those will be just perfect to go along with the awesome Super Bowl food!
Well, what are you waiting for? Grab your glass and let’s get started!

Super Bowl Cocktails
Super Bowl themed cocktails can be a lot of fun, especially if you have two rival teams! Make up your own signature drinks for Super Bowl LV spotlighting this season’s contenders, or serve up something that’s already tried and true.
Born out of tailgating themselves, the Ready Ritas family knows how to have a good time. For every tailgate or party, owner Kathy Thomas and her family put together an elaborate bar area.
We’re talking about…
- A rainbow of margarita mixes
- A wide assortment of spirits like tequila, triple sec, and vodka, plus red wine
- Fresh garnishes, like oranges, mango juice, fresh limes, apples, grapes, and other fun fruits
- Lots of colors of margarita salt, even custom colored salt to match the teams! (Ready Ritas sells purple, green, red, and spicy red salt.)
- Color-coordinated cups, napkins, and straws
With the right ingredients, it’s easy to create two signature drinks for Super Bowl LV (2021). Once the final teams seal their fate, mix up a special drink in the colors of each conference champion.
Use the chart above to determine what colors you need to celebrate the Super Bowl opponents!
Red Super Bowl Cocktails
Although I bleed green, I often enjoy the red drinks. Red wine, Sangria, Strawberry Daiquiri, and so many more! Here are a bunch of fun red drinks for Super Bowl.
Red Sangria featuring Ready Ritas
Mix up this red Super Bowl drink for any of your favorite NFL teams sporting the red – Arizona Cardinals, Atlanta Falcons, Kansas City Chiefs, San Francisco 49ers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, or the Washington Football Team. These drinks will also work beautifully for your favorite college football teams!

Ingredients:
½ cup Ready Ritas mix
¼ cup dry red wine
Assorted fruit to your liking
Sangria Steps:
- Mix together the Ready Ritas mix, dry red wine (Such as Traders Joes cheap brand, Yellowtail, etc. Look for a pinot noir or a cabernet, as a shiraz tends to be too sweet.).
- Add a variety of fruit for taste and garnish. Slices of apples, oranges, limes and some red or green grapes add a wonderful mix of flavors to the drink.
- Serve over ice and enjoy!
Blue Super Bowl Drinks
Lots of teams in the NFL selected blue for one of their primary team colors. As it’s such a popular choice, there’s a good chance you’ll need a blue drink at some point soon!

(Plus, blue is such a fun color, anyway!)
Here are a few blue Super Bowl cocktails to try…
Spicy Margarita
If you can’t take the heat, get off the field! This beautiful drink is festive with blue and red, but don’t be mistaken! You’re in for a kick with floating slices of jalapeno and a jalapeno for garnish. Dial the heat to your own liking!

Ingredients:
½ cup Ready Ritas mix
1/8 cup tequila
1 ounce of Triple sec.
¼ fresh jalapeno (optional – leave out if you prefer a non-spicy version)
Steps:
- Mix together Ready Ritas mix, tequila, and Triple sec.
- If you’re open to a little heat, add a slice or two of fresh jalapeno. Try it and see. Add more or less to taste.
- Edge the rim with red salt.
- Garnish with a fresh jalapeno.
- Serve and enjoy!
“So we are from Texas and I like a spicy marg,” says Ready Ritas Owner Kathy Thomas. “I add fresh jalapeno to the mix for a kick. This may be too spicy for most people, but try one slice of jalapeno and if it isn’t too hot, add another. You can also just buy spicy tequila – it makes a great drink.”
Green Super Bowl Drinks
Feeling a little green with envy this year, so might as well enjoy a green Super Bowl drink! Try these fun drink ideas for any football Sunday (or day of the week)!
Eagles Green Frozen Margarita
Ingredients:
½ cup Ready Ritas mix
1/8 cup tequila

Frozen Margarita Steps:
- Pour desired amount of alcohol into the Ready Ritas bag. More alcohol, less slushy. We don’t judge!
- Freeze overnight and enjoy your delicious drink the next day!
- TIP: If you want your drink totally frozen, add ice and throw it in the blender.
- Edge your glass with green margarita salt if desired.
- Pour and enjoy!
Purple Super Bowl Cocktail Ideas
Purple drinks usually just as delicious as they are fun to look at. Try these purple Super Bowl cocktail ideas for your Zoom-per Bowl party, small shindig, or your own enjoyment watching the big game.
Purple Vodka Margarita
Ready Ritas Owner Kathy Thomas offers this recipe as a substitute for those who do not care for tequila.
“Technically this is not a margarita since there is not tequila in it, but some of my family members do not like tequila, so we had to come up with a different twist using the mix,” she says. “We are very accommodating in our family.”
Ingredients:
½ cup Ready Ritas mix
1/8 cup vodka
Splash/squeeze of fresh lime

Vodka Margarita Steps:
- Mix together Ready Ritas mix and vodka.
- Add a splash or a squeeze of fresh lime.
- Rim the glass with purple margarita salt for a festive touch!
- Serve and enjoy.

Orange Super Bowl Cocktails
Orange is such a fun color and fairly popular with sports teams. Mix up your own cocktails for Super Bowl and other football parties using a fun orange color scheme! Here are a few drinks to try:
Mango Margarita
Enjoy a fun, tropical vibe with a mango margarita! Complete the perfect look with some orange margarita salt.
Ingredients:
½ cup Ready Ritas mix
1/8 cup tequila
3 tablespoons of mango juice
Blue salt (or coarse salt + dried food coloring, optional)

Mango Margarita Steps:
- Mix together Ready Ritas mix, tequila, and mango juice.
- If desired, salt the glass with orange margarita salt.
- Serve over ice and enjoy!
Down one of these Super Bowl themed cocktails and look forward to a better season next year! (Unless of course you’re rooting for one of the teams in the Super Bowl – well, never mind then. Carry on.)
Super Bowl Punch
A Super Bowl Jungle Juice packs the perfect punch for gameday. Try this recipe to create a Super Bowl punch that’s strong enough to make you forget all about last season and 2020.
This is just one version of a Super Bowl alcoholic punch. You can create countless variations with your own personal mixologist skills.
“Wing It” on Your Own Super Bowl Punch
- Begin by mixing a few tablespoons of different beverages for a single serving to get an idea of flavor.
- Try juices like cranberry, pineapple, orange, fruit punch, and lemonade.
- Add a splash of vodka, rum, or both to spike the punch.
- If you want a fizzy Super Bowl punch, add some Sprite or 7Up.
- Add a squeeze of fresh lemon or lime juice if you like.
- You could also add a splash of Grenadine. It’s all based on your preference!
- When you find a flavor combination you like, increase the amounts and recruit a friend or family member of age to help you test your concoction.
You can also take things in a tropical direction with a Super Bowl Rum Punch.
I usually just pour until it looks or feels right, so you may have to find your personal sweet spot. Here is my wing-it recipe for a fun rum punch:
- Pineapple Juice
- Orange Juice
- Grenadine, splash
- Lime Juice, splash
- 1.25 oz light rum
- 1.25 oz dark rum
I’d rather be on the islands right about now, wouldn’t you?
Old Standby – Beer!
Of course, many folks enjoy nothing more than an ice-cold beer on Super Bowl Sunday.
If you aren’t sure what kind to get, you can always head over to a local beer distributor that specializes in craft beers.
We have a great local place where I live called “Frank A. Smith” Beverages, and the guys there rock.
They’ve helped me many times with my very specific beer needs, from a Beers of Your Life “10 Years, 10 Beers” anniversary gift to a custom Beer Christmas Countdown gift for a 40th Birthday. (More on that later!)
Anyway, a shop like that likely has a plethora of craft beers, a make your own 6-pack room, a growler station, or all of the above. You can also get beer from a local craft brewery.
Either way, you’ll be sure to have some great Super Bowl drinks to enjoy.
You might also enjoy hard cider cocktails featuring Blake’s Hard Cider. Check out our post on making your own hard cider mixed drinks.
Don’t Forget the Kids!
Sure, Super Bowl alcoholic drinks are fun for adults, but you know the kids will love their own mini Super Bowl party!
It would be ideal to have some non alcoholic super bowl drinks available for kids, pregnant guests, or designated drivers if applicable.
Here are some fun ideas for non alcoholic super bowl drinks:
Kids Football Sunday Punch
- Mix Hawaiian Punch and Sprite or 7Up.
- Right before serving, add several scoops of Rainbow Sherbet.
Shirley Temple Drink
- Fill a glass with ice and lemon-lime soda like Sprite or 7Up.
- Top off the glass with a healthy splash of grenadine.
- Add a few maraschino cherries for good measure.
Complete your Super Bowl drinks lineup with some fun football ice cube molds or football ice cube alternatives. I am really interested in getting a set of these for myself to make a fun kids punch and a grownups Super Bowl Punch!
Much thanks to Ready Ritas for these fantastic recipe suggestions!
